Join me for a two-hour sanctuary of trauma-sensitive restorative yoga especially designed for your overwhelmed nervous system. Restorative poses are fully supported by props so that your body can experience a deep release from constriction, allowing your whole being to come into a sense of spaciousness. I will offer creative ways to honor and work with nervous system states such as fight/flight, overwhelm, and freeze that can make deep relaxation more accessible in difficult times.
As an internationally certified yoga therapist with extensive experience specializing in relational trauma, I look forward to sharing the ways a therapeutic practice can ease the impact of systemic trauma, within the space of community.
I have extensive experience with all mobilities, and our space is fully accessible. Our restrooms are all-gender.
A little about me:
A lifelong practitioner and a teacher of 25 years, with therapeutic experience spanning just shy of that, I am now privileged to create specialized practice for people navigating multiple sclerosis, cancer, and postnatal mental health challenges through Swedish Medical Centers. In addition, I partner with The Dove Project to create yoga therapy offerings to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence, and have a private yoga therapy practice specializing in interpersonal trauma. My passion is discovering and co-creating unique practice with each person whether in-person on Vashon Island or the greater Seattle area or on-line with clients all over the world.
I use my extensive understanding of physiology and the nervous system in an experiential way to guide my students to explore the story and the process of their body system, uncovering, unwinding and also celebrating the asymmetries that make us human.
